The approach of Biotechnology Department of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia covers integrated processing and the use of secondary by-products in nature-like technologies for bioconversion into highly added value products with unique properties for sustainable development of the planet and lowering the negative industrial effect. This paper presents a mathematical model and solution strategy of S. cerevisiae single cell protein accumulation in deproteinized sunflower meal hydrolysates. Different biological models were tested with the experimental data. The temporal profiles of sugar and cell concentrations were modelled by a set of ordinary differential equations, which were solved using MATLAB software. Stannard model fitted the biomass production, Monod model ? the deproteinized sunflower meal monosaccharides accumulation, formed during subsequent acid and enzymatic hydrolysis. The model was validated by the experimental data and the coherence between the model and experimental results demonstrates that the model is reasonable for prediction the dynamic behavior of the fermentation process. Model gives more information into the environmental conditions of the fermentation process and can be used for further development and scaling of the secondary plant by-products bioconversion into fodder for ruminants and monogastric animals.
