RECYCLING OF CO-CR POWDERS USED FOR MANUFACTURING BY DIRECT METAL LASER SINTERING TECHNOLOGY

In this paper are presented some researches concerning the recycling process of Co-Cr powders that is used by the sintering process DMLS.
Direct Metal Laser Sintering process is an additive laser manufacturing technology and is used in different domains like tooling, aerospace, medicine and auto.
In the tooling domain, Co-Cr alloy powder is sintered by DMLS process, using a Phenix Systems machine, for obtain different mold prototypes. Co-Cr alloy powder presents good mechanical and corrosion properties.
The SEM and EDAX analysis of recycled Co-Cr powder are realized using a scanning electron microscope QUANTA70 (qualitative and quantitative analysis). These analyses present the defects and the impurity of the recycled powder cause of the recycling process. The Co-Cr powder can be recycled many times and to be reused for DMLS process.
