When it comes to efficient use of water, especially groundwater, a water / water heat pump is a very good example of its high efficiency at the optimal qualitative and quantitative conditions of the groundwater used. Hydrological and hydrogeological conditions on the territory of Slovakia is for several factors, mainly with the geological structure, location and clime. All this terms influence richness of surface, underground but also mineral water. The main objective of this article was based on knowledge of the quality and quantity of groundwater in the Slovak Republic in order to determine the appropriate location of water / water heat pumps from selected heat pump manufacturers of this type. Due to the high efficiency throughout the year, since the groundwater temperature has only minimal fluctuations and is relatively stable, this type of pump is a great choice for more efficient and more environmentally friendly heating and hot water heating. To meet this goal, it was necessary to determine the technical parameters of the selected equipment and their requirements for the quality and quantity of the primary source of heat, ie groundwater. In addition, we have to determine the hydrogeological conditions of Slovakia and to evaluate certain qualitative and quantitative parameters of groundwater.
