According to the sustainable mobility, there are many rules how to do best a moving the citizens in our cities. What is interesting that we do not have a classical ? technical rules how to reach the sustainability in transport. The big deal is coming from the NGO people, mainly. The politicians have open their arms for them and then defectively requires from professionals non-systematic solutions. In Bratislava, Capital of Slovakia, is like in other cities in Europe a huge development boom. Completely new down town will rise from the Danube river bank and on the edge of the Old City. The territory specified will have 42 new buildings with different function and there will be more than 17 500 new parking spaces. At present, the operation of the territory is at the border of the saturation flows. The article is about the methods of traffic engineering and planning works how to keep the system of works for creating the sustainable rules for mobility. The results of traffic surveys and results are shown what a base need for o good solution is. The next necessary steps are the rules from the time point of view as an average daily traffic with a rush hours and in a year?s steps the scenarios for showing the sustainability. For that is a traffic model needed which will be used not only for the prognosis scenarios of dynamic traffic flows but for changing the modal split for the public transport, as well. The results of extensive travel survey and the methodology of traffic modelling for improving the operation of the territory with designing the new tramway lines as a form of sustainable mobility will be shown. This could be a soft intervention how to plan the sustainability for ?moving the people?, not only the generel ?mobility?.
