The creation of footings and foundations with an increased load capacity is a crucial task of modern geotechnical construction. Among all the existing technologies pertinent to the construction of such foundations, underground structures, such as bored piles of large diameters, are most strongly sought-for. The existing construction technologies, in which such piles are used, make it possible to realize substantial values of load capacity (Fd). This parameter may be increased just via changing the length and diameter of piles. With a view to realize high Fd values, regulated injection piles manufactured based on the electric discharge technology (EDT) may be used as an alternative to bored piles. Enlargements along the EDT piles shaft allow increasing their load capacity. In this case, each additional enlargement brings to a substantial increase in Fd. Thus, controlling the quantity of enlargements depending on the stratification of the geotechnical elements within the construction site makes it possible to reach the required values of the EDT piles load capacity.
