Abstract/ Foreword

The main aim of the paper is to introduce theoretically developed curve which describes load settlement curve of the pile. A majority of European and US standards and recommendation indicates static pile load tests as a basic procedure to confirm bearing capacity of piles. The paper presents systematically made review of pile head settlement prediction methods, and static pile load test interpretation methods used in Europe, and United States. Using practical examples of static pile load test author indicates differences between presented methods. Author compares most popular methods described in literature with Meyer Kowalow method which can be used also for static pile load test interpretation and also for single static pile settlement prediction when ultimate load is known. The paper presents theoretical background of Meyer Kowalow method (MK Method) which can be used also for SPLT interpretation. Meyer Kowalow curve describes Load- Settlement curve for piles during static pile tests. Parameters of Meyer Kowalow curve are obtained statistically based on the set of results f In the paper there are presented also examples of interpretation of static pile load tests using MK method and conclusions in the matter of deep foundations designing
