In the Czech Republic, mining is regulated by a number of laws and decrees. The basis of this article is the approximation of legal provisions and their quantitative expression, the legal provisions applied in the area of economical exploitation of mineral resources in our territory. The provisions of the Upper Law are based on four fundamental principles and, on the basis of these principles, the provisions regarding the economical exploitation of mineral resources can be assigned to the individual principles. Among the different principles are the general and specific requirements for the economical exploitation of mineral resources, the control activities of the state administration bodies as well as sanctions. In the article, the individual principles will be approximated and defined in the provisions of the laws and decrees that concern the area of economical exploitation, especially from the upper law No. 44/1988 Sb. The output of the article is an analysis of legal regulations in the area under review, especially their quantitative expression and evaluation and suggestion of possible improvements to the provisions for more economical exploitation of mineral resources in the Czech Republic.
