The main target of this study is to identify informative features for characterizing the formation types of gold deposits in order to formulate the rules for formation conditions assessing, industrial significance and forecasting of new deposits. Database of ores samples from 95 gold deposits and ore occurrences from the North-East of Russia was collected. Mathematical processing of data has allowed us to compile logical-information models (a set of informative signs (elements), indicating their separating weights and ranges of their values change (indicator intervals) typical for the groups under study). The analysis was carried out in 2 stages: 1. Determination of the specific features of the types of different formations ores (1. Au-Ag epithermal, 2. Au-quartz, 3. Au-sulphide, 4. Cu-Mo-Au-porphyry, 5. Au-pyrite); 2. Determination of ore formation types features within each formation. As the result of calculation, logical-information models of each analyzed group of deposits were obtained, as the sets of 52 characteristics-elements with its informative interval-indicators and separating weights in the range from 0 to 1. To distinguish the formation types of ores, the most informative were: 1: Ni, Zn, Sr, Sb; 2: As, Mo, Cu; 3: Sc, Se, Ag, Sb; 4: As, Ag, Sb, Te, Cu; 5: Be, Zn, Mo, Cd, Pb. The system of models is based on a wide set of elements and a representative database of etalon deposits. This allows them to be used in the study and evaluation of gold deposits in similar ore-bearing provinces.
