In order to exclude the unprofitability of heavy oil deposits development in Russia and abroad, it is necessary to search and create new more advanced technologies for heavy oil and bitumen deposits development aimed at improving and creating technologies for increasing oil recovery, which allow developing fields with the greatest economic efficiency. This is due to both the structure of "unconventional" oil reserves and the need for more complete production of hydrocarbon reserves with sufficient high production efficiency. For development of such deposits with the achievement of acceptable extraction rates, new thermal methods are needed that surpass the traditional technologies of steam heating effect. Heavy oil should be considered as a complex raw material. They contain such valuable heteroorganic compounds as naphthenic acids, sulphonic acids, ethers and esters, such unique components as metalloporphyrins (linked to vanadyl and nickel), which can serve as a source of unique catalysts, sensitizers, organic semiconductors. They are used in medicine, in biotechnology, in chemical technologies, in microelectronics, so the demand for them exists in those countries where these technologies are intensively developing.
