The results of the study of high-Mg rocks from the Aganozero chromite deposit, located in the Republic of Karelia, are reported. It is a complex type of deposits. Other promising useful minerals, in addition to chromite ore mining, are Mg-rich ultramafics such as olivinite, dunite, serpentinite and pyroxenite. High-Mg dunite units are thick, and their MgO concentration varies 36.97 from 46.77%. Aganozero dunite is a good raw material for the production of refractory materials, e.g. refractory bricks, steel furnace lining, etc. The upper 20-30 m thick serpentinite horizon of the deposit consists of massive rocks, while deeper horizons are composed of unconsolidated varieties (kemistite). They can be used for the production of a porous heat-insulating material, various types of ceramics and anti-friction metal coating. Pyroxenite occurs at a depth of about 400 m. Pyroxenite can be used as a facing material in construction, heat-insulating ceramics and ceramic pigments.
