In this work, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) as an innovative development route was introduced for the following of heavy crude oil oxidation. Moreover, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) confirmed results that gained by EPR techniques. Herein, we investigated two heavy crude oils based on temperature-dependence initiation process on the kinetics of LTO in the temperature range from room-temperature to 200?C, in the presence of hydropeoxide as an initiator. Without hydroperoxide, the behavior of two heavy crude oils according to thermal treatment are interestingly compatible to each other. We have used the EPR technique for the following and monitoring of crude oil activities giving to thermal appliances and studied the oxidation process under this temperature effects in the presence and absence of initiator. Meanwhile, this research showed that in the absence of initiator, the heating process cause to increase in free radicals intensities in EPR method, however, in the presence of initiator we observed that the free radical intensities decreased which it shows there are some chemical reactions have been occurred such as free radicals coupling in crude oil environment in the presence of initiator. Also, DSC showed that in the presence of initiator the oxidation ignition point shifted to the lower temperature. . This scheme provides wide scope, exhibits economical and fast method, proceeds under mild reaction conditions. These resulting data are obtained in a reasonable time with the help of EPR techniques.
