THE PROCESS OF ABSORPTION OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE BY SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION FROM MODEL GASEOUS MIXTURE

Up to date the high content of toxic and corrosive compounds in petroleum gas is one of the main problems. Hydrogen sulfide, a gray carbon monoxide, carbon disulphide, mercaptans; sulfides and disulfides in gas condensates are the most often appeared among the sulfur-containing impurities. This problem can be solved by creation new technological methods for preparation of oil-dissolved gas or development existing ones. Hydrogen sulfide has a high corrosion activity, and the existence of water in the gas increases its the corrosive effect and also other?s acidic components, such as carbon dioxide, which concentration exceeds the concentration of hydrogen sulfide. That is why the neutralizing agents must have a high selectivity to hydrogen sulfide in the presence of carbon dioxide. Innovative solution to this problem is the neutralization of acid gases by alkaline solutions. The properties of three different compositions of the model gases, containing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, were experimentally investigated. The results of the absorption of acidic gases by caustic alkali solutions helped to identify main sentiments and features of calculations of the absorption kinetics. According to the concentration of acid gas aqueous alkaline solutions have different capacity with respect to the absorbed gas. As the results the main difficulties of the processes identification were defined. They are the significant influence of chemisorptions to the depth and speed of the physical absorption and interaction. Then the kinetics of gas absorption is determined not only by the rate of mass-transfer, but also by chemical reaction parameters.
