This paper is focused on creation of the tail unit FEM strength analysis of the UAV based on helicopter by advanced CAx tools. To perform the analyses were used advanced information technology tools with high precision. For the strength analysis was used solver NASTRAN as a part of software NX. This analysis has shown us, in which locations of the surface design will be the greatest loads during the flights operations and in which points of attachment of the tail unit together with fuselage will be the greatest stress. CAx are able to calculate the maximum deformation of the structure under the effect of load. According to the information that we have collected by numerous repeat calculations, we were able to modify the design to achieve the best possible results. For the sheer size of the problem, it was possible to create another research study to find the best design for our type of unmanned device. Thanks to modern informatics methods, it was possible to create several different types of the UAV tail unit, one of which will be analyzed in the paper.
