Optimal shaping of the agricultural production area is one of the basic conditions that determines the profitability of production. Land divisions, made over the years, contribute to the fragmentation of farm land, reducing their profitability. Parameters on the basis of which an evaluation of the agricultural production area can be made are the elongation of the plot and its area. The methodology developed in the study allows evaluation of the land layout in the village on the basis of the proposed new index of correctness of shaping. The paper presents the results of analyzes for several villages with different configuration of the land layout. The adopted solution enables to classify objects into groups with a certain degree of defect in spatial structure of land. The obtained result allows determination of the positive and negative sides of the tested land structure. The proposed solution can be used for decision-making analyzes by public administration offices. These analyzes can be used for regional development and spatial planning strategies.
