With the advance of mining to greater depths, the fully protecting safety pillar of shafts is progressively diminishing. Thus a certain part of the mineshaft and of the protected area on the surface is influenced by undermining. In such a case, it is necessary to assess the expected effect of mining on the mineshaft and the surface objects in relation to the preservation of their stability. Subsequently, it is necessary to carry out direct measurements of movements, and, if the case may be, deformations both in the shaft and on the surface objects in which machinery is usually placed. The above-ground building of shafts is equipped with a mining facility and it is necessary to provide for its safe operation. The manufacturer of the mining facility being part of the headframe of working shaft no. 6 states that it is safe to operate the mechanical and electrical parts of the mining machines up to the inclination 5 mm/m of the headframe. This paper gives potential methods for determining the inclination of the headframe of the working shaft and the results of the measurement of the verticality of the headframe of working shaft no. 6 at the Lazy site in the years 2013 to 2015. The measurement of the verticality of the headframe of working shaft no. 6 was carried out by projecting a point stabilised in the upper part of the headframe to a scale placed in the lower part of the headframe. The measurement of deviations was carried out from two directions perpendicular to one another. The result is the determination of the values of inclination, the stability of the headframe of the working shaft and the stability of the machinery in relation to their safe operation. At the same time, an estimate of the accuracy of the measured values of deviations was made, as well as that of the accuracy of the determined inclination of the headframe of the working shaft.
