In recent years one may observe a rapidly growing demand for spatial information used in the decision-making processes concerning the functioning of States and the quality of citizens? life. The number of institutions that record data as well as the quantity of information also constantly keeps growing. Official databases containing spatial information are created and run in Poland and the Topographic objects database (BDOT10k) is one of the basic databases covering an area of the whole country. An essential component of each official, spatial database is the quality management of collected information. The authors? quality model of data collected in topographic objects databases (BDOT10k) is presented in this work. Creation of this quality model was aimed at determination of the standard attitude towards an evaluation and report of the quality of spatial data. The model is comprehensible and suitable to be used by producers and users of spatial data. The basis for the development of the data quality model was the arrangement of current knowledge and testing activities that has been done with the use of real field data. Prepared identification of information concerning the quality includes detailed quantitative and non-quantitative parameters of the spatial data description. The following elements of the data quality were applied in the model positional accuracy, completeness, logical consistency, thematic accuracy and temporal accuracy. When reporting the results concordance, the basic quality measures applied were based on an error rate, RMSE, and CE95 estimators.
