This study focused on developing a multilevel system of spatial analysis of different types of data to model forest cover. We built a map of forest growth conditions using field data, climatic and morphometric parameters. Landsat images were classified with the help of a forest inventory and field database in order to map of current forest cover. Using Knowledge Engineer Module (ERDAS Imagine), we developed a knowledge base intended for modeling forest regeneration series from a spatial combination of the maps of forest growth conditions and of current forest cover state. This system has been tested for a study area in Central Siberia.
