According to the existing Directive 2002/49/WE the task of identification and forecasting of noise pollution in the urban environment are carried through acoustic maps technology. The parameters designated in acoustic maps are limited to the quantitative size of evaluation of the environment exposed to the effects of noise sources, e.g. LAeq, LDEN, Lnight. The determined values of these parameters are fundamental to the decision ? making process in the terms of noise reduction. The results of undertaken researches in the evaluation of the perception of sound phenomena in the environment indicate i.a. the importance of the measures of sound quality that express subjective impressions receiving acoustic signals. Characterized in the article problem of acoustic identification is related to linking variables such as: quantitative acoustic parameters, measurement of sound quality and characteristics of objects in the environment. To that end authors of the article used modeling of sound quality measures, object?s features and simulation of quantitative acoustic parameters. Variable features of objects found in an urban environment are identified by acoustic parameters, absorbing properties of reflective surfaces and spatial relations between source, propagation track and receiver. For the purposes of evaluating the quality of the acoustic in the environment, identified as above, it assumes the use of measurement and methods of statistical evaluation of used variables. This article is the result of research conducted at the Institute of Production Engineering, Faculty of Organization and Management, Silesian University of Technology, within the statutory work entitled "Methods and tools for improving products and services on the selected examples" (symbol 13/030/BK_17/0027).
