The Danube Delta dynamics formation and expansion represent the motivation of the study included in this paper.
The results of soil studies made possible to develop the Danube Delta genesis maps [7]. That information?s are the input data and the validation data for the numerical flow studies of the Danube River. The study of the formation of new territories has been developed by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (C.F.D.) method. There were modelled in three dimensions the maps for Danube River Basin flowing into the Black Sea in various stages of the Danube Delta formation and expansion. There are defined the areas of fluid interactions between the Danube River and Black Sea. As inputs for the numerical analysis, there were taken into account in the nearby areas of the inlet fluid flow rates of the Danube River and the prevalent Black Sea flow currents. Based on the numerical results, the fluid flow velocity and pressure distribution into the riverbed, there were analysed the area?s most sensitive on the process of silt deposition. This study makes possible to validate the methodology for analysis and prediction of the formation of new territories at the connection between the Danube River and the Black Sea. The numerical results obtained in this study make possible to develop practical conclusions concerning the Danube Delta formation, the existence of the lakes in the northern Romanian coast of the Black Sea, and to forecasts the development of the further area map. |
