Hardwood forest stands in Latvia serves mainly recreational purposes, as well as ensuring biological diversity. Ash stands in 2015 were occupied 0.4% of the total (2923515 ha) forest area. This proportion have been made up from the dominant tree species registered in the State Forest Register. The research was conducted in the pure and mixed stands (other species admixture up to 30%), selecting middle-age (44, 47 years) and mature (66, 67 years) stands with a density of 0.7. For data collection, were installed 16 sample plots (each 500 m2). Canker wounds records on the ash trunk were grouped into 4 groups: the first - 1 damage on a tree trunk, the second - 2-3, the third - 3-5 and the fourth - more than 5. By canker diseases damaged trees were distributed into Kraft classes. It was found that there is a significant correlation between the number of canker wounds on a tree trunk and the number of diseases damaged trees in the stand, but there is not between the stands (p <0.05). There are significant differences between different Kraft's classes of the trees affected by diseases and undamaged tree proportion (p<0:01). Hylesinus fraxini Panzer damage was detected in all stands on the singly living and all dead trees (up 4%).
