Medvezhye gas field is the oldest known one in Western Siberia and unique because of its values. At the present time most of Cenomanian deposits are exhausted. Senonian sediments, which are such nontraditional reservoirs as clayey opokas, opoka-like clays and opokas, are considered as a source of resource potential compensation. Objects of the study are 34 core samples taken from two drill holes and belonging to the lower part of Berezovskaya suite. Geochemical and mineralogical features of the rocks were studied with use of X-ray diffraction analysis results. According to obtained results sediments of Berezovskaya suite lower part are subdivided into three parts. That is expressed in sequential change of paragenetic mineral associations: sideritic, moganite-quartzous, quartzous and moganite-cristobalite-quartzous ones. In accordance with variations of geochemical indicators values it was stated that studied rocks formed in deep sea basin environment with active fresh water inflow and terrigenous material income amid general regression ongoing.
