Safe water quality is strongly related with good human health and the presence of undesirable species may pose various disturbances. Accordingly, evaluation of drinking water quality is needed in order to secure if water is appropriate for human consumption. The aim of the research was to evaluate the quality of drinking water collected from M?neciu-Ungureni, Prahova County during 6 sampling campaigns from 7 wells. The evaluation was based on determination of some specific parameters, as follows: pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total hardness (TH), oxidisability, nitrate, nitrite. The results were compared with quality standards for drinking water imposed by Council Directive 98/83/EC and also with Romanian legislation. Excepting nitrate levels, all other investigated parameters were below values imposed by legislation. In the paper are described correlations between pH, EC and TH and also between nitrate, nitrite and oxidisability parameters.
