The article presents new data on the impact of dust emissions in cement production of the Open Joint Stock Company "Yakutcement" (Yakutia, Russia) on chemical and microbiological properties and enzymatic activity of frozen forest soils in Central Yakutia.
It is established that as the emission source approaches and the dust load increases, significant alkalinization of soils takes place (the pH increases in litter from 7.11 to 8.40, and in humus horizons from 7.05 to 7.75) as a result of the accumulation of free calcium carbonates of technogenic origin.
As a result of dusting and dilution of soil material with cement dust in forest soils, the content of humus decreases from 17.07 to 7.95%.
Under the influence of cement dust, the microbiological and biochemical activity of frozen forest soils changes. In the surface layer of the soils (litter) a statistically significant decrease in the number of bacteria (4-10 times) and microscopic fungi (3 times), a decrease in the activity of urease and an increase in the activity of polyphenoloxidase were observed.
Changes in the number of soil microflora and activity of enzymes adequately reflect the negative chemical shifts in soils contaminated with aerotechnogenic emissions of cement production.
