In the context of deregulated market, energy companies need a flexible and efficient framework for energy trading. Along with concerns regarding environmental issues, deregulation determined an increased share of small and medium renewable energy power plants. With these came along challenges in operation regarding their variability and lack of central monitoring. Aggregation of distributed energy sources led to the concept of virtual power plant, which brings advantaged as a better control of production units and also a better visibility for the system operator. In this paper, the authors purpose am optimal management solution which can offer to a virtual power plant the capability to sell complete services, both for production and demand side management leading to the increase of the necessary reserve for balance.
