There are an industrial air pollutants as a new, negative factor in agriculture, reflected mainly in second part of the 20. century. There are thousands of hectares of uncultivated agricultural land as a consequence of this form of soil intoxication. There is also reduced soil fertility below the fertility level, on the another thousand hectares of soil, where is needed high energy excess in the form of fertilizers or agro-technical works. Physical and chemical properties of soils have been changed, erosion has been increased and plant communities have been decreased. A number of the soil can not be used as agricultural soil. We see the possibility of Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. cultivation for the future fertilization and perspective land use, because in some of these areas has been located. Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. is an invasive plant with opportunities for technical and agricultural use. We evaluate the contribution of Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. cultivation to improve soil and thus for the total revitalization of polluted areas, in this paper.
