The work is focused to study the impact of alkaline and metallic deposition on soil phosphatase activity. Area Jelsava - Lubenik with specific alkaline pollutants is one of the most devastated regions of Slovakia. Mining and processing of magnesite is accompanied by enormous emissions of particulate matter of MgO into the air. The heavy metals Cd, Pb, Zn, Mn and Cr are also found in the dust particles. Seven research sites in the agrarian country of the problem area Jel?ava and Luben?k were monitored. Middle Spi? is former mining area, considered one of the most environmentally loaded and polluted areas in Slovakia. As a result of long and intensive mining and mineral processing operations, the area was polluted by heavy metals. There was found exceedance of limit values of Hg, Cu, Zn, As, Cd and Pb in soils of this area. Eight research sites in the agrarian country of the problem area of Middle Spi? were monitored. Soil samples were sampled on permanent research sites, which are used as permanent grassland and are in emission field of a magnesium factory Jel?ava - Luben?k and emissions field of heaps and ponds on the middle Spi? (Slovakia), from A horizons the depth of 0.05 m to 0.15 m. We studied and evaluated soil reaction in 1N solution KCl. Acid (ACP) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was measured by the method described by Chazijev, modified method by [7]. Statistica 12 software was used for all data analyses. Spearman?s rank coefficient was used for determination of the level of correlation significance between soil properties. We recorded significant positive dependence between activity of acid and alkaline phosphatase and negative dependence between alkaline phosphatase and soil reaction on the area with alkaline deposition and we recorded significant positive dependence between activity of acid phosphatase and soil reaction and activity of acid and alkaline phosphatase on the area polluted by heavy metals.
