The problems of sintering process are dust emissions and pollutant emissions, especially SO2. During the actual production in the sintering process emission ceiling limits are exceeded. They are being implemented measures that prevent from breaking SO2 emission limit. The sulfur content of feedstocks influences both the quality of sinter and the pig iron and the amount of SO2 emissions. One of the possibilities is a partial substitution of coke dust with anthracite. World steel production will continue to be dominated by blast furnaces using coal. In process of pig iron production besides main product pig iron, also secondary products are formed, that have character of secondary raw materials and industrial wastes. As a fuel, coke dust is commonly used in agglomeration charges. Fossil fuels, biomass, lignite coke or anthracite are newly used as fuels for agglomeration charge. The world's largest representation is anthracite. Fossil fuel is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions for ironmaking plant. The production of primary metals contributes about 5% to the total world greenhouse gas emissions.
