Construction development of forest-tundra areas shall take into account their peculiar characteristics: enhanced susceptibility of landscape components to man-made impact, presence of permafrost, and also insufficient exploration of environmental conditions. These factors make it essential to carry out a detailed investigation of natural and man-made conditions as a part of engineering and environmental surveys during environmental feasibility study of the projected construction in such areas. This work is dedicated to the integrated geoecological assessment of the reconstruction site of Dudinka City Water Supply System and the construction site of Third Field of Lebyazhiye Tailings Dam located in subarctic zone of Middle Siberia. Based on field and laboratory investigation, specific characteristics of the condition of landscape components were revealed, and necessary and sufficient basis of environmental design for these facilities was obtained. It was determined, that in case of environmental protection measures taken, man-made impact on the ecological situation in the territory of Dudinka City Water Supply System will be insignificant. However, operation of Third Field of Lebyazhiye Tailings Dam will lead to considerable change of local landscape. A set of recommendations and solutions for environment protection and organizing environmental monitoring was proposed.
