The tailings resulting from surface excavation mining can turn into areas used for the re-cultivation of various species of plants, which represents, in fact, an ecological reconstruction and rehabilitation of degraded fields. The re-cultivation of tailings can underpin farming or forestry, and the research conducted in this regard recommends using organic and mineral fertilizers in order to provide the necessary nutrients, increase the organic matter content and also improve the soil structure and microbiological activity. The current paper presents the influence of organic fertilizers compost and the duration of their application on the yields of chickpeas, sunflower and corn. The experimental device was placed on a tailing covered with fertile soil in the Husnicioara career, Mehedinti County, in a three-year stationary rotation and the yield-related figures are presented as an average of the years of experimentation. By adjusting the obtained data, it can be estimated that the annual application of 20 t / ha and 30 t / ha of compost, supported by adequate amounts of mineral fertilizers with azoth and phosphorus, can lead to good yields from the three crops on the psamic Entiantrosoil of Husnicioara.
