The present study was conducted at the Floriculture Research Area, Faculty of Horticulture of Craiova (Rom?nia), in the year 2014. The main objective of this work was to investigate the potential effects of foliar applications of some natural biostimulators obtained from humic acids from lignite (HA), from the grape seed extract (GSE) and their 1:1 mixture, on plant growth and development, depending on the rooting substrate. Stem cuttings of Pelargonium peltatum were rooted in two media (peat?perlite, and Jiffy pellets) and were exposed to four treatments: HA 2.5%, GSE 0.25%, a combination of HA 2.5% and GSE 0.25% (1:1) and control (treated with tap water), resulting in eight experimental variants. The results that we obtained showed that humic acid and grape seed extract can improve quality of planting material of Pelargonium peltatum. The most beneficial effect on the rooting, vegetative growth and blooming of ivy pelargonium was observed for the medium containing peat+perlite (P+Pr) combined with AH and AH+ESV.
