Raising the issue of the relevance of culture and peculiar behaviour patterns for taking effective action of individuals and professional groups is an extremely practically useful thread of the analysis of social functioning of a person living in the conditions of modern civilization. The concept of pattern assumes a certain, usually positive, method of its evaluation. Behaviour patterns usually will be transmitted in the area of culture including common environmental views among generations as a tool of a good social and cultural adaptation. In the issues of transmission of behaviour patterns it seems obvious to draw attention to meeting certain standards of behaviour, attitudes and values. Sharing them in professional, social and cultural groups is a peculiar test for social, cultural, professional and individual identity. Cultural and communication competences are particularly important in the conditions of threat to the security of an individual, social groups and larger communities in the form of a nation or state. It is deemed that cultural and communication competences are the key instruments useful in threatening conditions and emergency situations. The lack of competence in the indicated areas leads to the inevitable failure of social relations, lack of sense of responsibility in social and environmental context. On the basis on such arrangement of the issues of cultural determinants of action in emergency situations one can discern the range of relevance of security in psychological models of values. We can also discern in such categorization a suggestion to carry out research on personality determinants of coping with the need of personal security.
