The article analyzes the necessity of forming a model of environmentally sustainable development. It is determined that the solution of this problem is extremely necessary for Russia. The characteristic of the basic concepts of solving global environmental problems is given. It is determined that the solution of this problem is extremely necessary for Russia. The need is formulated to consider nature as an economic category in the production of material goods with a constant aggregate change in external and internal escernals. Indicators of sustainable development of a number of leading countries of the world are analyzed. It is determined that economic development can be expressed through changes in such indicators as GDP, the size of the budget, the assets of the banking system, etc.; Social development - through the level of unemployment, health; Ecology - through pollution of the environment, the level of use of natural factors.The role of an active state policy in the conditions of transition to a new "noosphere epoch" in the development of human civilization was noted. It was concluded that the formation of the proposed model of sustainable development should be based on various types of political, economic, social indicators of a systemic nature.
