The aim of the article is to evaluate the Six Sigma method as a tool changing the way energy industry has been managed. It has been based on facts, data and results of statistical analysis. The method?s task is streamline and continuous development of new, increasingly sophisticated solutions of all processes in a company, particularly concerning the protection of the environment. The philosophy was found to act by a clear identification of a value for a customer as part of a long-term strategy regarding variability and waste elimination. The strategy aims at reduction of processes? costs implementation and increasing customer satisfaction. Six Sigma is a tool of a permanent change in an organization culture, development and implementation of corporate strategy acceleration. It serves as an inspiration of organizational change and value creation and aims at achieving excellence, process and system approach in management, streamline and increase processes? efficiency, particularly concerning the protection of the environment. The role of partnership in a supply chain has been emphasized - its quality (creating relationships such as win-win, where each party is satisfied), reliability (focus on delivery of services and products, reduction of common costs and risk, trust building), invention (quality support, innovation and longer-term nature targeted as incentives to improve performance), durability (purposes synchronization and trust deepening) and communication (frequent, open dialogue and information sharing).
