The paper examines the various developments regarding strategic management of raw materials on national, European and international levels. The problems linked to this subject are of increasing importance for the producing industry. Thus it is necessary to act quickly and pursue a sustainable raw material policy. The main purpose of this work is to analyze the possibility of fly ash utilization for the road construction and possible application in other industry branches with interest. The methodology used in the paper includes qualitative and quantitative data and practical laboratory work is done in order to analyze and test the chosen fly ash samples, to determine the chances of the application as well to find exothermal profile of the raw materials used. The application of fly ash as a supplementary material in road construction may increase desirable characteristics of the road including increased strength and mitigation of alkali silica reaction (causes serious expansion and cracking in concrete). The results obtained show that the possibility of fly ash application is a god opportunity for the reduction of industrial waste and increase the economic benefits for the country.
