According to the national laws and legislation, the pyrotechnician is the person who has expertise and is authorized to handle and/or use in Romania fireworks of category F2, F3, F4, pyrotechnic articles of category T2 and/or other pyrotechnic articles of category P2.
Taking into account the inherent character of the risk specific to the pyrotechnic articles as well as the complexity of carrying out operations with these types of products, it requires acquiring thorough technical and practical updated knowledge together with building skills necessary for their proper use.
NRDI INSEMEX Petrosani is an authorized institution to organize training courses in the profession of pyrotechnician under the current legislation harmonized with the European regulations and having adequate facilities to meet the theoretical and practical training standards of the people who want to qualify for this job.
Following the increasing level of claims for the improvement of methodological, theoretical and practical infrastructure in the specific field of the activities with pyrotechnics, at NRDI INSEMEX Petrosani research has been conducted within the National PNCDI respectively the Core PN Project 16 43 02 20 which had as a main aim the development of technical and IT facilities to organize training courses in the profession of pyrotechnician leading to increased awareness and the understanding of the updated information contained in the harmonized educational curricula.
In this respect we have developed mechanisms of teaching and assessing the mastering of the disseminated information based on the application of modern pedagogical and psychopedagogical concepts of facilitating the learning process for people who come from a heterogeneous environment from the perspective of differences in age and owned level degree/ gained experience.
The paper highlights the results of the upgrading of the methodological and practical infrastructure as well as of the technical facilities which are at the basis of new approaches to optimize and increase the training quality for the qualification in the pyrotechnician profession.
