Coordination compounds of metals and their halides with biologically active organic ligands can be used to produce materials with various optoelectrical and magnetic properties. Some of them can enhance the tunnel effect. Complexes of metal halides with amino acids and halogens with various structures have been synthesized. Lithium halides, which form complexes with electron-donor molecules are of particular interested for biological applications. The studies on coordination compounds of lithium halides with amino acids and halogens will make it possible to understand the relationship of their biological, especially, primarily for antiviral activity with the structure and physical properties of adducts. The adducts that were formed in the alanine-iodine-lithium iodide system served as the object of the present study. The purpose of this work was to obtain data on the structural-phase transformations of iodine adducts and their thermal properties for determining the possibilities of their use in the new composite materials with antiviral active properties. The research methods included X-radiography and thermography, X-ray phase analysis. X-radiography and thermography of new synthesized iodine adducts were carried out for the first time, and the data will be sent to the appropriate data banks for use in the production of new materials.
