Starting with the year 2020, all new buildings in the European Union, must meet the requirements imposed by laws on energy efficiency. Romania is an EU member country, accordingly must also respect these provisions. In the present study, we identified new hybrid elements for construction of closing/partitioning, energy efficient. These are the result of associations of construction materials with similar properties, having a very low thermal conductivity. The main materials used to make hybrid structures, energy efficient and environmentally friendly, are: concrete, wood, metal materials (only in case of extreme safety), masonry materials and local ecological materials. Local ecological materials are: straw, sheep's wool, sawdust and adobe (a kind of clay used as a building material, typically in the form of sun-dried bricks). After identifying the elements, they were made calculations for the thermal resistance and mass transfer (moisture), taking into account climatic zoning of Romania. Following these calculations it was found that some solutions can be an alternative to meet energy efficiency requirements for new buildings.
