For the purposes of proposing a new use of brownfields and development areas, it is necessary to evaluate the current status of the selected areas including the development of clearly arranged records of individual areas. Each processor of the database usually tries to process it as clearly as possible with the easiest editing. Many processors can manage with commonly available computer resources and do not use the possibilities of innovative software tools designed especially for recording in the field called Facility Management. This paper aims to give at least a general idea of the possible approaches in the process of registration of previously developed areas focused on the environment of small villages and towns, especially in terms of the usual problems, economic, administrative and communication points of view. An integral part of this article are some basic theoretical data about the topic which deals with small municipalities. At the end of this paper will be shown an example of one possible tool used mainly in the Facility Management area which, due to its wide range of benefits (economic, easy to use, connectivity to other databases and institutions, etc.) is suitable for use in the territory of small municipalities.
