To improve the technology of opening and development of oil fields for increasing the completeness of subsoil use, the prospects of using the electric pulse method of drilling are discussed. Validated the concept of creating an electric pulse tunnel system based on submersible source of high-voltage pulses with controllable formation of work space for increasing its maneuverability and creating special technological outputs in a rock mass for forming a cluster of slant and horizontal boreholes with most complete coverage of oil shelves, for location of geophysical monitoring equipment and for other purposes. The development of pulse generation techniques, technical destruction facilities, apparatus methods for monitoring the destruction process and controlling the operation of the plant can find application in drilling large diameter wells for thermal power, boiler wells for creating nuclear waste storage facilities, wells for pile foundations of engineering facilities in the permafrost zone, including liquefied natural gas storage facilities, in modular installations for the development of deposits of particularly valuable raw materials in complex geographic and climatic conditions of the North.
