THE KIS-KUEL IRON OXIDE COPPER-GOLD DEPOSIT IN EASTERN YAKUTIA (RUSSIA)

This paper is devoted to a descriptive model of the new diorite-granodiorite related deposit in the Eastern Yakutia (Russia), with Iron Oxide Copper-Gold ore style mineralization.
The methodology include field works with grab sampling and chemical analyses of ore and host intrusive rocks. The major element compositions were analyzed using methods of spectrometry, atomic emission spectrometry, ionometry with ion-selective electrode, gravimetry, titrimetry. Trace elements were identified by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP MS). For ore samples, grades of gold, silver and copper were determined by the atomic absorption method on the iCE 3500 spectrometer. Ore minerals were identified by scanning electron microscope JSM-6480LV with energy spectrometer INCA-Energy.
Magmatic contribution to the Kis-Kuel deposit is significant. Intrusive rocks range from diorite to granodiorite in composition. Rare-earth geochemical system of igneous rocks of the Kis-Kuel intrusive is characterized by behavior close to the CHARAC-system (26<Zr/Hf<46 ? 24<Y/Ho<34) in which the ?/Ho ? Zr/Hf ratios of the pair show a distribution close to chondrite (Zr/Hf ? 36.6 and Y/Ho ? 27.7). Minor deviations of the Kis-Kuel rocks from the CHARAC intervals indicate a lowly evolved magmatic system.
Kis-Kuel ores contain significant volumes of high-grade gold breccias and differs only with FeOtotal. We propose that one of the basic factors for mineralization styles at Kis-Kuel consists in the granitoids evolution and strongly differs from unevolved and mantle compatible compositions to highly evolved and fractionated intrusive rocks. The calc-alkaline evolution trend of the Kis-Kuel magmatic rocks, influenced on the accumulation of iron in ore. A significant part of the iron did not fractionated into high-iron melts, and separated into hydrothermal solutions with high grade gold concentrations.
