The Solovetsky archipelago in Russia is known for its history. Solovetsky monastery is located on the Bolshoy Solovetsky island. The monks built two monasteries and four monastic hermitages on the island long before the Soviet period. All of them are connected by a network of historical dirt roads. Around the monastery in the first half of the XV century there was a settlement. This article presents the results of engineering-geological surveys of the base of the road network of the "Solovetsky" Settlement located on the Bolshoy Solovetsky Island. Most of the roads are unpaved and were built in the period from the XVI century to the Second World War. These roads are very interesting as historical objects of the Solovetsky archipelago. In addition to drilling, a pit was dug on the historic road, which was built in the XVI century and goes from the settlement to the Philip Hermitage. The results of determining the permissible load on the axle of a vehicle when driving on this road are presented.
