In the study we dealt with the design of family-type civil constructions on competent foundation ground from geotechnical point of view. The geotechnical characteristics of the rocks that are necessary for the design of a civil construction were made in the laboratory of the PROIECT GEO SRL Company in Oradea. We analyzed the placement general conditions, the geomorphology and geology of the foundation ground required for the construction. The necessary data for the design of family-type civil-engineering foundations requires extensive field studies. Field surveys were carried out by conducting four drillings and sampling rock samples on the ground, assessing the geotechnical characteristics of the foundation ground and the conventional pressure according to the existing norms and standards. We also framed the perimeter of the construction depending on the seismic activity in the area. We have identified the foundation ground and designed the building foundation for the competent rocks to ensure the stability of the construction. Experimental research has led to the classification of rocks in a geotechnical category and geotechnical risk assessment for the site. The paper presents the conclusions and recommendations regarding the constructive characteristics of the family-type civil-engineering foundation.
