The oil price crisis has changed the way how we treat our producing wells. Nowadays production intensification is not just a possible option to increase the flow rate of wells with poor performance, but a treatment we must consider for every well to achieve ultimate productivity.
However, before the actual treatment a series of different steps are necessary to take, such as candidate selection, method selection, treatment planning and decision making. These steps require the cooperation of different personnel, mostly geologists, engineers and economists, therefore good coordination of this cooperation is a fundamental condition. The difficulty of the process is that the candidate selection process changes from company to company and the treatment planning differs for almost every reservoir. In addition, the decision making is very challenging as it must take into consideration both technical and economic factors. Our work proposes a modular method, which provides help during the different steps from the selection stage to the decision making. Based on the input data, the method shows the possible outcomes of different treatment types and compositions at the information level of the given step. The flexibility of the application is resulted by the modular structure, as each part can be changed based on the available information and practice of the company. |
