The research task presented in the paper covers utilization of computer based method for performance optimization and penetration estimation of shaped charges. The code is used in computer simulations, depicting dynamic non-linear phenomena. This is a perfect tool describing such phenomena as: expansion of detonation products, propagation of shock wave, rapid strains. The LS-DYNA program is used in many scientific and industrial fields, both on an initial stages of product development and on its final stage. The computer simulations and analyses shorten time of introducing product on market, enable elimination of design ?based errors and very expensive models and prototypes.
The work encompasses the optimization tests concerning axially-directional shaped charges based on exemplary, specific charge structure. The computer simulations and optimization tests performed with use of specialized LS-Dyna computer code considered estimation of shaped charge action effectiveness, type and structure of its liner material and shape of the charge case. The parameters are important for perforating effectiveness performed with such charges in boreholes.
In particular the following tasks were completed: a base computer model of shaped charge, composed of steel case and solid copper liner and explosives based on RDX and HMX, was developed and verified, simulation and analysis of shaped charge action for base model with laminar liner were completed, together with presentation of resulting jet penetrating material of target in the form of steel block.
