It is known that the main reserves of diamonds in Russia are concentrated in the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and for many decades determine the volume of their production. Many years of experience in the development of open-pit diamond deposits have led to an excessive increase in the depth of the quarries, which creates the danger of working in the lower horizons, as well as an increase in the cost of production due to an excessive increase in overburden.
The paper proposes the introduction of a system of automated and remotely-controlled mining of minerals, which will improve the efficiency of open pit mining during the final extraction of the reserves of deep quarries, minimizing the influence of the human factor. We used the existing experience and certain developments in the maintenance of deserted ore in domestic and foreign mines, based on the creation and use of certain types of mining and transport equipment in the development and implementation of fundamentally new technologies using systems with remote control of mining equipment. In this case, the excavation and loading of the rock mass at the bottom of the quarry is carried out by the Le Tourneau L-950 loader, which operates constantly in remote control mode. Dump trucks CAT-740 are moved in remote control mode from the pit bottom to the horizon site at -255 m to the pit on the southern side where the remote control point is located. Here, the dump truck goes over to manual control and continues to move in manual control mode to a horizon of -35 m, where it is unloaded at a transshipment point, and come back to the platform of a horizon of -255 m, where the driver leaves the cab, then is controlled by the remote control operator to slaughter. Thus, for the first time in practice of refining deep quarries, in practice, excavation and loading operations were carried out with the help of remote-controlled equipment without the presence of people in the excavation and loading area. |
