In the early 80-ies near the village of Shantobe, Akmola region, a heap leaching manufactory was built. Since 1985, the manufactory processes productive solutions, and the commercial product of the manufactory is a regenerate containing up to 40.0 g / l of uranium. This product is processed at the mining and smelting factory (SMCC) in the city of Stepnogorsk to produce U3O8 uranium oxide. The share of heap leaching accounts for 25.0% of uranium according to control No. 1. But, in connection with the difficulty of financing the heap leaching manufactory (HL) in recent years have been preserved.
The use of highly toxic reagent - sulfuric acid - to extract uranium from ore is a characteristic feature of the HL technology, which determines its environmental hazard. The consumption of sulfuric acid, depending on the type of leached ore and the productivity of the enterprise, can be tens and hundreds of tons per year.
In this regard, the purpose of this work was to study the state of the physicochemical and X-ray phase structure of uranium-containing ore after sulfuric acid leaching
