An urgent problem in the design of adaptive training complexes (ATC) is to find the optimal set of visualization tools and technologies. Currently, there is a wide variety of visualization components on the market, so it is impossible to choose the best solution at the moment. At the design stage, the traditional expert approach is currently the most widespread. However, it is subjective, not accurate enough, and the resulting solution is not always optimal. Therefore, this article discusses the method of selection of visualization components, formalized with the help of functional diagrams. The necessary mathematical support allowing to carry out classification of components and a choice of the best option from group is given. Visualization components are analyzed and grouped into a classification system based on the facet method. The algorithm is aimed at simplifying the structural-parametric synthesis of training complexes. The obtained scientific results can also be used in the implementation of visualization systems for information systems of various kinds.
