The paper deals with the actual problem of assessing the quality of video content transmission in modern wireless networks.
A review and analysis is made for the quality level of the currently most popular protocols and technologies for transmitting video content in wireless networks. It analyzes video content transfer technologies based on the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), namely HTTP Progressive Download (HPD) and HTTP Adaptive Streaming (HAS). For HTTP Progressive Download and HTTP Adaptive Streaming technologies, quantitative traffic patterns are introduced for information and communication systems. Criteria of quality of perception (Quality of Experience) are reviewed and systematized from the point of end users view for whom it is transmitted in info-communication systems using HTTP Progressive Download and HTTP Adaptive Streaming technologies. Analytical and simulation models of transmitting video content to existing wireless networks are built in the presence of users with different service priorities. A model is proposed for evaluating the quality of video content perception for HPD and HAS technologies, taking into account the methods of allocating radio channel resources in a wireless centralized network. |
