The purpose of this study is to create an information system that allows for predicting the results of football matches primarily focusing on teams in the Russian Premier League (RPL). To predict the results of matches it is possible to use various approaches that take into account a large number of different factors.
This work is devoted to the study of patterns of outcomes of matches, depending on the place occupied by a team in the championship. During the season, teams can occupy the predicted and desired place, or some other not so good place. In this regard, the tactics of preparation and participation of teams in competitions for the whole season or a certain segment of it may change. As practice shows, the most significant for forecasting are the last 5 seasons.
In the presented work, an information system was created, including a database of the position of all teams in the RPL standings at the time of each round for the last season and for the 4 previous seasons. To study and establish patterns were selected 3 teams.
To interpret the information, the system includes means of primary processing and visualization of data in the form of graphs, which reflect the dynamics of the indicators of three selected RPL teams in the standings over five seasons. Using the tools of statistical analysis, key trends in the results of matches were determined in certain segments of each season, which made it possible to predict the most likely results of the next few matches of the teams studied.
