The article brings knowledge from the theory of transport systems. The aim of this article is to propose a mathematical model for the calculation of combined airline systems. Air carriers, when choosing a network type, decide mostly between the two basic types, which are ?Hub and spoke? or ?Point to point?, or their combinations. The choice of network type depends on a number of criteria, in particular the business model and the product offered, which distinguishes Low-Cost Carrier from Full-Service Carrier. Full-Service Carriers airlines use hub and spoke and LLC point to point. Among the combined systems that are also used among airlines, we include a combined network, extended line network and multi-hub. When designing possible mathematical models, we used the general formulas of the basic types of networks. Designed formulas are based on mathematical science, particularly combinatorics. However, their applications bring some pitfalls and can not be applied to all of the combined network types. The result of the article is the design of mathematical models for the processing of relevant spatial and operational data, which is useful for calculating operating costs, as an initial calculation in the case of air carrier network expansion.
